Terms and Conditions of Sale

These Terms and Conditions of Sale (TCS) apply to all sales concluded on the website aufildeslivres.fr between Au Fil des Livres (hereinafter "the Seller") and any purchaser (hereinafter "the Buyer"). Any order implies full and unreserved acceptance of these TCS.

Purpose and Scope

Au Fil des Livres specializes in the sale of antiquarian, rare, collectible books, and special works (hereinafter "the Books"). These TCS govern the conditions of distance selling via the aufildeslivres.fr website as well as any direct sale concluded with the Seller.

Description of Books and Condition

Each Book is described with care: author, title, publisher, date of publication, state of preservation (according to usual bibliophilic standards: Very Good Condition, Good Condition, Satisfactory Condition, etc.), binding, presence of illustrations, signatures, or annotations. These descriptions are given in good faith and in all conscience. Photographs may accompany the descriptions. The Buyer is invited to contact the Seller before any order to obtain additional details regarding the condition of a work.

Prices

Prices are indicated in euros (€) including all taxes. They may also be displayed in other currencies for information purposes, based on real-time exchange rates provided by the Frankfurt Rate API ( https://api.frankfurter.app/latest ). Prices are set in euros (€) (or in the available currency at the rate in effect via the Frankfurter API). For the European Union: Prices are listed in euros (€) excluding VAT. VAT not applicable, Article 293 B of the French Tax Code (CGI). For the rest of the world: Prices are indicated excluding taxes (HT). Prices are understood as "all inclusive" - DDP - Delivery Duty Paid. Any customs duties and local import taxes are fully covered by the Seller and included in the final price paid during the order. The Seller reserves the right to modify its prices at any time, it being understood that the applicable price is the one in effect at the time of order validation.

Orders

The Buyer can place an order directly via the website form. The sale is definitively concluded upon receipt of payment.

Payment

Payments are made via the Stripe secure platform.

Stripe is the world leader in online payment infrastructure, used by millions of businesses worldwide. It is a highly reliable and secure solution, meeting the strictest security standards in the industry (PCI DSS Level 1 certification). Your banking data is encrypted and is never shared with the Seller.

Payment is due at the time of ordering. Shipment of your products occurs after validation and effective collection of the payment by Stripe.

Delivery

The Seller delivers to mainland France and internationally. Shipping costs, including full insurance against loss or damage, are fully included in the displayed price. No additional delivery charges will be added during order validation.

Books are shipped within 3 to 5 business days after receipt of payment. Each work benefits from high-quality shipping (specific packaging, reinforced protection) to guarantee its perfect integrity during transport.

Thanks to the included insurance, the Seller assumes responsibility for the transit until effective delivery to the Buyer.

Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, the Buyer has a period of 14 calendar days from receipt of the Book to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to provide justification.

To exercise this right, the Buyer must notify the Seller of their decision by email to info@aufildeslivres.fr or by mail to the address above, before the expiry of the period. The return of the Book is at the expense and under the responsibility of the Buyer, in its original condition. The refund will be made within 14 days of receipt of the returned Book, using the same means of payment as that used for the purchase.

Warranties

The Seller guarantees the authenticity and conformity of each Book to its description. In the event of proven non-conformity, the Buyer has recourse according to the provisions of article L217-4 et seq. of the French Consumer Code. Regarding second-hand goods and collectibles, the legal guarantee of conformity and the guarantee against hidden defects apply under the conditions provided for by French law, taking into account the particular nature of antiquarian books.

Liability

The Seller shall not be held liable for damage resulting from improper use of the information contained on the site, nor in the event of delay or non-performance due to force majeure or the fault of the Buyer.

Data Protection

Personal data collected during an order is used exclusively for processing the order and is not transmitted to third parties for commercial purposes. For more information, please consult our Privacy Policy.

Disputes and Applicable Law

These TCS are subject to French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought as a priority. Failing this, the Buyer may resort to consumer mediation in accordance with article L616-1 of the Consumer Code, notably via the European online dispute resolution platform ([https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr](https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr)). Failing an amicable resolution, the French courts shall have jurisdiction.
